One Way Versus Wrong way?

I snapped this picture on the way to the bus stop (I'm actually on the bus now! Isn't posterous cool?) and it got me thinking about my blog; Not this one, but AnthonyMendez.com My Wordpress-based blog. The one I spent $75 on a theme for and "75" minutes customizing. That one. The one I'm launching in January. The one that will focus on voiceover itself and, hopefully, further reinforce my brand as The Crossover Voice, while providing a "home" for my business, if you will. Well, I'm thinking of closing it before it even launches!

You see, I discovered posterous and it has spoiled me with its simplicity; Not only visually, but practically. As I mentioned, I'm on a bus on the way into the City writing this email. Once I'm done, I will attach a photo (the one above of my silhouette) and send it to post@posterous.com and it will instantly create a blog post for me. Additionally, it will let my twitter followers and Facebook friends know about it while posting the image to my flickr account. And if I really wanted to delve into the world of redundancy, it could even post it on my AnthonyMendez.com Wordpress-based blog (remember? The one I paid money for?)! All for free!

I don't want to turn this into an ad for posterous, although I do like to share things that can make others' lives easier in this multiple-cyber-personality world. The reason that picture got me thinking about posterous, is because as a voiceover artist - an individual - you can easily fall into the trap of following the herd (hence my setting up a Wordpress blog). But, on occassion, I like to go the "wrong way" just to see what I discover. Sometimes, there's a benefit. Sometimes there's not. But it's so much more interesting to explore rather than follow "one way."

So, unless you can convince me otherwise, I will stick to this posterous blog and leave Wordpress alone.

Gotta go! My stop is coming up... -Anthony
